AMAZING!!!

I worked an incredible deal at CVS tonight! I was trying to follow someone elses deal but ended up not having the right coupons, so I sat down and figured it out for myself and think I ended up with an even better deal! I did two transactions.

Here are the totals before any coupons or sale prices for both deals $ 200.52
Total I paid for all of it after coupons and extra care bucks: $4.32!!!
This means I saved $196.32
This is AMAZING!

Here is how I did it:
#1) 4 glade candle holders at $2.50 each
4 glade candle refills at $2.50 each
1 nova Max blood glucose monitor for 9.99. ( this was on sale $65.00 off)

I had coupons for buy one holder get one refill free on the glade. I also had a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase. So here is how it worked...
My total after the sale price but before any coupons or extra care bucks came to $29.99.

First I used the $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase. ($24.99)
I had 4 coupons for the buy 1 get 1 glade. ($24.99-10.00= 14.99)
I used 13.99 in extra care bucks (14.99-13.99=1.00 add tax +1.50= 2.50)
So for the first deal I only paid $2.50 out of pocket!
I got 15.99 back in extra care bucks and it also printed out a coupon for $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase.

#2) My second deal I got a Bayer contour blood glucose monitor for $14.99 (this was on sale for $65.00 off) and I had a coupon for $14.99 so this was free.

I got two packs of pampers diapers at $8.99 each and had two coupons one for 2.00 off and another for 1.50 off.
I added in two caramels for $0.33 each this was so I didn't waste my extra care bucks.

Here is how it worked. Total after sale price but before coupons or extra care bucks. $33.63
I used the $5.00 off $25.00 purchase (33.63-$5.00$28.63)
Coupon for $14.99 off the glucose monitor (28.63-14.99=13.64)
Two diaper coupons (13.64-3.50=$10.14)
I used 10.00 in extra care bucks ($10.14-10.00= $0.14)
add in tax ($0.14 +$1.68= $1.82)
I paid $1.82 out of pocket and with the bayer glucose monitor there is a Rebate for the price you pay up to $55.00 so I will get a check back for $14.99)

Now I could have paid nothing for this, but it is all a matter of when the sales person hits the subtotal button. There is a time that they can hit the button and it will allow the extra care bucks to pay the sales tax, but if they hit it at some other point it won't let them pay for the sales tax. This is not that big of a deal but could be the difference in why someone can pay $0.40 cents and you may end up paying $1.20. Don't fight this if it happens to you, just realize you got an amazing deal.
